Additionally, the polyurethane not only completely fills and seals the crack but, it also creates a positive seal on the exterior of the poured basement, leaving the basement protected from both sides.

Fixing a Crack in a Poured Basement from Outside

When the poured basement is finished, there is a huge chance that the homeowner may not want the removal of walls to access cracks.  If the cracks are situated in an inaccessible area, polyurethane injection cannot be done. So fixing these cracks can only be best done from the outside using the traditional, time efficient method and material called the granular sodium bentonite clay.

The granular sodium bentonite clay is placed in the hole, that is dug against the basement wall where the crack is located. The clay absorbs the water from the surrounding soil to make it impenetrable against water. The end result of the repair done in the cracks of the poured basement is invisible as the hole is backfilled.
